World Read Aloud Day 2022

On February 2, 2022, children’s authors will be offering FREE virtual readings to students everywhere through World Read Aloud Day (WRAD).

I’m thrilled to participate this year and am offering six 20-minute slots to read my science-based, nonfiction picture book, Pando: A Living Wonder of Trees, which has been named one of the best books of the year by School Library Journal and Chicago Public Library.

If you are a teacher or a librarian and would like to sign up for one of my free visits, please register by following this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040d4fa4aa2fa57-world.

Our WRAD virtual visit will go something like this:

1-2 minutes: I will give a quick introduction & talk a little about my book.
3-5 minutes: I will read aloud Pando: A Living Wonder of Trees.
5-10 minutes: I will answer a few questions from students about writing, science, environmentalism, or anything else on their minds.
1-2 minutes: I will recommend a couple books I love (but didn’t write!) for the kids.

Please share this information with any educators who might be interested, and happy reading!

  1. Hi, Kate, I tried to re-blog your post, but the button would blink and then do nothing. So, being a problem solver (and independent actor, lol) I copy/pasted your post, revised it so that it was clear it was not a re-blog, and posted it on my site. I thought I should let you know. I just want to get the word out.  Be well,Sue
